IBD has recently shown an accum/dist rating of D for Dell. That has never happened in the past three years. The Naz is up ten percent in the past ten weeks. Dell is treading water. Soon you will have a confluence of negative sentiment about Dell. This includes less Internet frenzy, increased competition for its Internet business, decreased margins, less business post Y2K buying in the first half of '99, and the very real possibility of a recession second half of '99 as Y2K purchases cool down as well as the inventory buildups in anticipation of Y2K. Companies with a growth rate going forward like Dell's simply cannot sustain current forward looking PEs. People confuse the explosion of the Internet with the ease of entry when selling a commodity product.
