Well, I confess that I was being a little facetious about my body hair theory. But how do we explain, as somebody here pointed out, the loss of hair on our domes, if the purpose was to retain body heat. A great deal of heat is lost through the top of barren heads. Thankfully, I am keeping most of mine so far.

The real question to me is why we lost the long body hair of our ancestors. We still have the hairs, but most of them remain less than fully developed, except on the head, under the arms, the brows, and the pubes. Why would we shed our hair, only to replace it with animal fur? It also makes our skin more sensitive to UV damage. Anybody got a good suggestion?
