Sam, Have you heard that the Pope announced Friday that those who give up cigarettes or alcohol for a day can earn an "indulgence" that will eliminate time in purgatory?

Hey, it sounds like a good deal to me. So far there are no details. Does a day off of cigarettes = a day off in purgatory? If you give up both alcohol and cigarettes for a day, do you earn 2 days off in purgatory? Do the days add up just like bonus miles the airlines give out? Do you get extra credit for going a month?

What about guys like me that quit smoking 14 years ago? Do I have 14 years of credit coming, or is this a new program that is not retroactive? What about people that have never smoked or don't drink? Don't they get any credit? I'm confused, does anybody here have the answers?
