A case for uniqueness...

The most likely approach for leveraging a unique feature is finding (or creating) a niche in which that feature solves a key problem. (forgive me for stating the obvious) It sounds as though video might be an area where D-2 recording has the most traction, especially in the high end. (again obvious) However, I wonder how large the market for high end recorders is. Does anyone know?

The breakout play would probably need to include penetration into broader markets. Corporate video servers, hotel or neighborhood video servers, etc. (again painfully obvious) Does Ampex have any current positions or stated directions in these markets?

One final question if I may. To some degree drawing final conclusions from such embryonic is premature, but most of the newer markets are gravitation towards Windows NT. It would seem likely that at least some of market opportunities will require robust NT support. Does Ampex currently have any NT video server options?

Any information is appreciated, bye.
