I haven't got the Amazon.com mindshare polling thing (Perl script) working yet. I *did though run across this survey on perl.org. The results, after nearly 5,000 responses, among other things, read like a final box score for the Unix Wars, and indicate the extreme ubiquity of Sun boxen on the network.

I note that not only does Perl on Solaris/SunOS outpace Perl on Linux, it outpaces Win95,Win98,NT, and MacOS combined. The Unix platforms combined outpace the various Windows by a 5:1 margin.
