I also think this is great news for Quidel. Regarding the year time frame, I think a year is more than ample to accompolish the objectives of getting their product in front of and used by Dr.s. Having Brand products, they should develop good brand name recognition, and brand loyalty within the time frame. Once they've achieved the above there will be a much higher market resistance for "Johnny come latelys" to overcome. I thought it was a very good strategic move by Quidel to finance their marketing through their product.
Since H.pylori is a serious (but not critical), infection, the physician could simply follow up with another Quidel retest after a period following the end of Helidac treatment.

I think that the H.pylori test may be just as if not more of a winner to Quidel than the flu test in development, since the flu is pretty much a seasonal thing.
