''There is an upward momentum,'' said Ralph Acampora, director of technical research at Prudential Securities. ''The odds favor we hit 10,000 late this year or very early next year.''

The big story is can we continue this rally without a pullback,'' said Barry Hyman, market strategist for Ehrenkrantz & King. ''I'm looking for the early part of next week to be strong, and late in the week we should get into some consolidation.''
