penni, yes, I do live in Virginia, Fairfax County, to be precise. I have lived here for ten years, having moved here from Louisiana. I was just remarking to myself this weekend that I have finally become able to look at Virginia-style houses without distaste, even, in a few cases, appreciation. They looked so - - relentlessly STARK, to me, when we moved here.
On the other hand, I do like the climate. I never tire of pointing out that of the most intelligent men of the American Revolution, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, George Washington, George Mason and Patrick Henry all lived around here, only Benjamin Franklin didn't.
