barbara, No OTC-BB stock "may" be held in a type 2 account. All items in a type 2 account are considered for loan value. There's no little man looking over the contents of every type 2 account to figure out which of the items to compute the loan value on each day. (g)

While you may see nothing wrong with holding DCTC in a type 2 account, this isn't the issue. We as investors have no legal say in which account a broker puts the stock in. The broker BY LAW has no choice but to out DCTC in a Type 1 account.

If you have DCTC in your Type 2 account, it is an error. If the broker figures it out, he'd transfer it to Type 1, unless he wanted to be in violation of the law.
