Rick - It is the nature of the business that Sprint is willing to eat the difference between $450 and $199 in hopes that you will start to use your phone for more than emergencies. Maybe once you find out how cheap it is you will. I think Sprint is probably betting that people who are willing to shell out $199 for a phone when they could get a free Analog phone are probably going to use the phone more often. But you raise a good point - since they don't seem to have an monthly fee maybe they are attracting the "Just Emergency" crowd. Was there another low or zero monthly fee plan available to you with a FREE phone? Just wondering.
