I believe there was a typo here "Paul was infallible" intending to say fallible.... Yes, Paul was fallible just as all people are. So putting faith in ourselves just emphasizes this point. What a person puts their faith in determines their world belief. Many on this thread say you look into our fallible selves for the answers and to find a Christ. They refute the bible attempting to discredit it preferring "ancient writings" also made by fallible people. The bible says that it was under the direction of the Holy Spirit of God that these things were written not as men decided to speak as found in 2 Peter 1:21. These people, because they were human, were indeed fallible yet if we are to believe the bible as God's word it was by His direction not theirs that the prophecies were written. A Christian is not necessarily reliant only upon Paul's writings alone... "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16 Re: the RC church apologizing for the atrocities it committed... How do you wipe out the deaths of millions of people with an apology? Could anything said be sufficient? The bible says salvation is simple, it is found through believing in Jesus Christ as your Saviour. His death on the cross to spare you from the penalty of sin. A willingness to repent and believe in Him. The bible says one way and only one way, that being through His Son, not fallible man's way . "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me." John 14:6 In Christ, John |
