I've been so busy the last 2 weeks that I don't get much time for composition. Perhaps the change in IPM management's change of focus needs a further look. A reading of the December 19, 1996 press release, especially in conjunction with the December, Internet President's Message, is clear: The need for IPM to continue development of a fire assay of BRX material was eliminated once the company had achieved recovered metals in hand. Admittedly, "standard fire assay" procedures for geochemical material was at its best precocious, however, IPM was still prepared to meet that challenge -- and overcome it. Once recovery was successful, to pursue an assay of the material would have been a complete waste of time and money. Why assay dirt to try and determine what minerals it contains when you can assay the recovered metals?? That message was clear. Since there were two distinct tracks of science being pursued, one for Assay and one for Recovery, for IPM to have done other than what it did -- advance into recovery -- would have been illogical and wasteful. Simply put, Behre Dolbear had been working on the final phase of the fire assay procedures because they were more advanced -- and in their final phase, where BD would normally step in. The recovery programs were not as advanced in November, therefore BD had not become a part of them yet. Then the science that had been applied over the last three years began to take hold -- that brought about the recovery testing and subsequent December 19th press release.
