Dave, hope you had a great holiday. <<<Unless the alliance was set up in such a way that the bulk of the benefits accrue to Microsoft, I see no reason they would go down that road. And if it were set up in such a way, why would Yahoo bother? I still think Microsoft's best interests are served by going it alone in this arena.>> Dave, MSFT will face opposition on three fronts now -the AOL deal is quite stiff competition. MSFT would eliminate a competitor and get a headstart which YHOO has. The price vs value - thats the only question. I believe MSFT alone will be an also ran in the portal buizz. Despite the loot thrown into the MSN, its still years behind. A new entity called MicroYahoo may be the answer. The lawsuit has made chances of such an alliance very remote though.
