I strat. I find that works is to look at the Bid vs Ask (when the stock is below opening), If the bid to ask ratio drops three times in a row, I sell. For what it's worth, probably not much, because if you can't get through to your broker or the lines are so clogged you can't make a trade, then NOTHING does any good except to beat the curve!
