I guess the real reason I have AOL and Direct Access is that I can. Also, I am a stockholder, so I figured it was in my best interest to 'know the product' and if I can do that for only $10.00/month, it is worth it to me.

Another reason is, I am a member of an online group which has it's base on AOL. This new unlimited pricing, allows me to take part in the AOL features, like the chat rooms and Bulletin boards. I have been using freebies until now, but it is just easier to subscribe. And, my service provider just lowered its prices by $5.00 per month, so I guess AOL is only costing me $5.00/month!!

You know, combining AOL with Direct Access would be a good marketing point for AOL. That way they get their own subscribers plus the people like me, who swear by their Direct Access. But AOL doesn't seen to be pushing this plan too hard. You could make an argument that AOL IS for everyone, no matter what you internet goals are. It would sure help their connection problems if they let more people know about the Bring Your Own Access option. Their commercials don't even mention this. How are Direct Access people supposed to know they can have Direct, and AOL for a reasonable price, unless AOL tells them?

I use AOL just for the fun stuff, and for just $10.00/month, I get a lot of enjoyment from it!
