Hello Tim.
We agree again!! The future will indeed dictate the stock price in the future...by definition! BUT, seeing as how no one can reliably predict the future we have to make educated guesses about what might happen in the coming months when we try to make the best possible investment decisions. According to all of the experts this is done by analyzing what has happened in the past and using this data to project potentials for future performance. Of course, the situation as it is today must be examined for changes that might indicate probable deviations from established trends as well.

In your last posting I think that by inference you indicated that you were in agreement that analysis of past performance by Camelot holds no information that would tend to make one believe that the future might be good for them or CAML investors. Ok...looks like we agree on this one too.

So how about looking at any differences in the status quo that might indicate positive change is probable. Has there been any significant management changes? Has there been any major reorganization? Have they hired any major new technical talent? Have they fixed the chronic employee turnover problems that hamper development efforts? Have they delivered any new products that might serve to change their market position and dismal earnings picture? Indeed, has anything happened that would give credibility to arguements that any significant positive change in Camelot's prospects is possible, let alone probable?

Well, all of the information that I have available shows that the answer to all of these questions is NO. Now if you happen to know something different, I would certainly be willing to listen. (Please do not cite promises they have made. Camelot's promises must also be examined in light of history, any such examination definitively reveals that such promises are of dubious value at best and utterly worthless for the most part!) However, in the absence of such information, the same question that I have asked repeatedly comes to mind... What information are you using to support this optimistic attitude that you so tenaciously cling to about Camelot? But more importantly, how can you take any current information so absolutley out of context by not considering the record?

I think that your ability to completely isolate the present from the past, without any changes in the status quo to justify this, which then allows you to somehow rationalize a rosy future for Camelot, is what is so confusing to me. To use your analogy...when a glass is half full/empty there can rightly be a discussion about the proper terminology to describe it. When it is obviously dry, few people would argue that it is indeed empty! If such a discussion did occur would it not be be entirely appropriate to ask the person arguing against the usage of the term "empty"....WHY?

I have limited experience with NetMeeting. The problem has always been the directory server. The few times that I have used it, however, I also found that the whiteboard wasa well executed and useful feature, as was the text communication capability and the ability to transfer files. Perhaps the feature that allows application sharing is the most interesting though. This allows a person on a remote machine to load and run an application from the machine that they are communicating with and use it as if it was resident on their own hard drive. I think this has huge implications for business users that could use this facility to work collaboratively even though each party may not have the same software available locally. The video capability adds a useful dimension to voice only communications as well!!

I guess that it is hard to compare these features with Digiphone because Digiphone has none of them (which with the exception of application sharing, almost all other competitve phone apps available today do)!!

Of course none of these valuable and useful features matches the "sound effects" available with Digiphone for real utility ;-)

Hey Tim, how did you gat someone to talk to on Digiphone when you did this comparison? Did you call them on the traditional telephone and ask them to start Digiphone so that you could talk. Did you send E-Mail and hope that someone recieved and read your request for a conference in a timely manner?? The absence of any real time directory services makes these exercizes rather difficult doesn't it? I wonder when Digiphone is going to support ULS (Universal Locator Standard)as many others do today?

BTW I found the sound on Net Meeting much better than Digiphone. Strange how nothing works well on your machine except Digiphone, and everything works on my machine much better than Digipnone...<GGGG>

Tim, try Intel's Internet Phone and let me know what you think. You also might want to try the newest version of Vocaltec's Iphone (4.0 or 4.5) and Netspeak's Webphone (2.0)! If you are going to be playing with some of the new phone apps, or even want to try NetMeeting some more, let me know, perhaps we can hook up sometime!

I apologize, but I long ago removed Digiphone Delux as a waste of perfectly good disk space! I could reinstall it if you want to talk though, as it is easy enough to get rid of when we are done. As a matter of fact I could then do a comparison with you to any application of your choice, record it on cassette and send it to you so you could hear what I experience using my machine (results that seem to be pretty universally experienced by other users as well I am afraid).

Hope to talk soon!!
