Today's Barron's has an interview with Carl Lawrence, the founder and president of Warwick Capital Mgt. Novell is one of his picks of undervalued tech stocks. He says, in part, "...Novell has a new, highly capable management now, and they are coming up with products in the area Novell should have been focusing on all this time, instead of going off into a dozen different directions. ...I think the company is on the verge of becoming the dominant networking company again."
As far as the takeover "dream" goes, I don't share it. Not that I have anything against making a quick buck, but it definitely limits your upside potential. If they stay independent, they have the potential to pass USRX in share price. That will never happen on a takeover. No, this company is for the long haul! No way should they be being outperformed by stocks like USRX and SUNW, not with the technology they have!
