JAWS Announces Beta Release of JAWS L5 E-mail Encryption Software for
Microsoft(R) Outlook(TM) 98 Users

CALGARY, Alberta, Canada, Dec. 1 /CNW/ - JAWS Technologies Inc. (NASD-OTC
BB: ''JAWZ'') is rapidly expanding its family of security products with the
beta release of JAWS L5 E-mail Encryption for Microsoft(R) Outlook(TM) Users.
This software is currently available for beta testing to select accounts who
desire to implement easy to use, fast, secure e-mail solutions.
''We have found that our corporate clients have security issues to solve
right now,'' said Robert Kubbernus, CEO of JAWS Technologies Inc ''Hundreds of
millions of e-mails are sent every day that are vulnerable to misuse because
they are sent unencrypted. Our L5 E-mail Encryption solution means that
companies today can protect their e-mail contents and attachments with one
button encrypt/decrypt. This is the first product of its kind in a market
that is demanding security today. Our Outlook 98 e-mail encryption product
coupled with other strategic product announcements to follow, will clearly
place JAWS as one of the leaders in this markets.''
In a recent product review, Outlook 98 beat out the competition,
including Netscape Messenger and Qualcomm Eudora, with PC MAGAZINE(R)
declaring that Outlook 98 ''is setting a new standard for Internet e-mail''
and CNET(TM) stating that it ''tops the Internet e-mail class.'' JAWS estimate
that over 4.9 Million users have actively obtained Microsoft Outlook 98 since
its release. The uptake is expected to accelerate even further as
organizations begin integrating Microsoft Exchange Server. JAWS target is to
reach 3% of these users through direct, channel, and on-line store sales in
1999. If successful this translates into revenues of $2.19M at a retail price
of $14.95.
