El: I think this is what Herb calls "the Greenberg Effect" - all the boxmakers are up (especially Apple)!

Re the margin thing: Can't go to the video tape but I heard a discussion between David Faber and Ron the Bear yesterday about it. Faber was checking out the rumors with the Fed/SEC. He was unsure whether there had ever been a case where margin requirements were changed on a particular group of stocks. Ron, who is a very good market historian, said that there had been and gave the name of the fed chairman at the time. I can't remember who it was or when. Ron said that the new margin requirements would probably be for stocks (mostly internuts) where the daily volume exceeds the float by some %. He also said that even if the Fed/SEC doesn't get involved, individual brokers could make changes on their own by upping their maintenance requirements. He mentioned one or two that apparently already have done just that.

Yes, I think we are getting some internut dollars today. Old Tech (a Cramerism) Rules!
