ThermaCell Online Paint Business Follow Up
SARASOTA, Fla., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- ThermaCell Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCLL - news, VCLLW - news), in response to a high volume of inquiries, released further details regarding its plan to expand its website (www.thermacell.com) in early 1999 to become one of the first companies to enter the online retail paint business.
ThermaCell confirms that its online business will be offered nationwide with product being shipped via standard shipping companies to any location not already served by ThermCell's existing delivery services.
''What is most exciting about this new sales channel is that even a fraction of a fraction of additional market share could generate meaningful revenues for ThermaCell,'' said John Pidorenko, Chairman President and CEO. According to the National Paint and Coatings Association, the U.S paint and coating industry had annual sales in 1996 of approximately $16.4 billion and per capita sales of $55.20 in 1995 or approximately 2.2 gallons of paint and 2.6 gallons of coating per U.S. resident.
As previously reported, the expanded website will enable consumers to order from ThermaCell's entire product line of more than 200 specialty interior and exterior paints and coatings and waterborne and solvent-based ready-made color paints, manufactured in Miami under the Company's Atlas, Scientific Coatings, ThermaCool and other names it expects to acquire shortly through two pending acquisitions. The online retail operation will also offer brushes, scrapers, tape, buckets, and other sundries associated with paints and coatings.
