Nope. Didn't see that. But, it wasn't the topic of a major press release, was it?

Here's the press release announcing Bob Young's entry to Viasoft:

viasoft.com

Hmmmm ... June of '98 through November of '98. Not hardly enough time to build an efficient worldwide Professional Services organization, eh?

I wonder if this is fallout from Kevin Hickey's departure, or if there's something else happening behind the scenes? Maybe he was hired for a specific contract negotiation for a humongous number of dollars, and it fell through?

Or, maybe the Viasoft powers-that-be are giving up on Professional Services. Again. There's that vision of a pendulum once more, swinging from product sales, to professional services, to product sales, to prof...

If nothing else, our VIAS holding keeps us occupied hypothecating.

Speaking of hypotheses ... if Viasoft can't make a go of Professional Services, and they have solid products already on the shelf, how about we convince a major Services vendor to acquire them? Like, maybe Keane (KEA). Or, Compuware (CPWR). Or, Platinum (PLAT). Or, our good buddy Charles Wang at Computer Associates (CA).
