RE: Fire Sales / Bankruptcy.

I stopped by our local Office Max and Office Depot at lunch today. Office Max wouldn't honor the 155% guarantee without a sales ad. Office Depot was out of SparQ's plus the sale had ended. They did have one External Parallel SyJet 1.5, though. It was $99.88. Too much for me. Wouldn't want to get stuck with a non-standard, unsupported drive that I couldn't get disks for. ;)

I saw an interesting article that made me think about SyQuest:

STORMWATCH: Storm Technology has thrown in the towel. On Monday the scanner manufacturer announced that it has converted its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case originally filed on October 21, 1998 to Chapter 7. A trustee will be appointed to administer the case and will liquidate the company's remaining assets. Storm said it is “unclear” what type of service and support its customers can expect.

pcworld.com;

I doubt that this will happen with SyQuest (unless both deals fall through), but it wouldn't surprise me.
