Liechtenstein Lottery, Inland Entertainment and You Bet! Receive Internet Gaming International's First Innovator Awards at Washington Conference
WASHINGTON, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- PLUS Lotto, the Internet Lottery run by the Liechtenstein Foundation, which donates 25% of its profits to the International Red Cross; Inland Entertainment, a company that runs celebrity and other casinos on the Internet; and You Bet! which offers interactive parimutuel wagering, has been awarded the 1998 Innovator of the Year Honors by ''Internet Gaming International.''
Adriaan Brink, Director of Plus Lotto, Christopher Voisin, General Counsel of Inland Entertainment, and David M. Marshall, President and Chief Operating Officer of You Bet! accepted the Awards at a luncheon at the Second International Symposium on Internet Gambling Law and Management on November 30, 1998 at the J.W. Marriott in Washington, D.C.
PLUS LOTTO was one of the first operating gaming sites on the Internet. It has created a new fund-raising opportunity for charities such as the International Red Cross and World Health Organization. Games available include conventional weekly and hourly lotteries as well as instant and interactive games such as Bingo and Scratch-Offs. INLAND ENTERTAINMENT, a publicly-traded company based in San Diego, was previously known for its leading work in the Indian Gaming Industry. Now Inland has become a leader in the Internet Gaming Industry, launching several online casinos, including Casino Australia, The Good Luck Club, and the Kenny Rogers Casino. With the Kenny Rogers Casino, they brought a widely-recognized international celebrity online, a move which, particularly if emulated, can only serve to bolster the credibility of the industry. YOU BET! INTERNATIONAL, Inc. is a service organization that provides horse players instant access to live racing, information and wagering via a private, secure online environment. The You Bet! service is provided on a secure proprietary private network, is multilingual, multicurrency, and provides for strict distribution control. You Bet! combines one of the most traditional gaming forms, horse racing, with the latest emerging technologies.
The Innovator Awards ''are being presented as a way of recognizing those organizations that have done the most to expand the boundaries and advance the interest of the online gaming industry,'' said Christopher Dauer, Editor-in-Chief of ''Internet Gaming International.'' ''Needless to say, this made for an extremely difficult selection process.
''As the industry continues to prosper, we believe the Innovator Awards will serve as a benchmark for performance in this very exciting marketplace,'' Dauer continued. ''In fact, the competition for the 1999 Awards has already begun.''
