Good Afternoon E! Well, I don't know about Dedrick, but my favorite part of the submarine races was that "low pressure blow on all main ballast tanks." "Snorkeling" was always a pretty close second though. As a matter of fact, come to think of it, low pressure blows may not have been around when dch was a squid... he may have only known about the "high pressure blow on all main ballast tanks." As a general rule, the low pressure blow is a much more controlled kind of event, taking longer with a gentler ride. The high pressure blow is much more frantic... it usually causes a "shift of attitude" which, at the culmination of the event, could cause air to unintentionally "spill." If that happens, one could find themselves in trouble in a hurry... The problem is that it takes a while to recharge the banks, so inadvertent spillage is a condition to be avoided. Maybe dch would like to clue everyone in about snorkeling. I'll give you a hint though... the first step is to get the mast to stick up. Lazarus, just remembering the good 'ol days...
