Knowledge is power…

I'm sure you are right. The FDIC certainly has no love for BestBank. After all, they closed them down. However, Baetz and Gallant were never mentioned as principals of BestBank. The FDIC does not award the processing contract. The FDIC receives bids for the portfolio of credit card accounts and awards the right to buy the portfolio to the successful bidder. Then, the bank that buys the portfolio contracts with a processor, hopefully Columbia Capital. And why not? After all they are completely Y2K compliant, competitive, and already are set up to do so without further cost to the new portfolio owner.
