RE: "There are probably thousands of lurkers out there"

FROM: an Ex "lurker", (I term I personally resent) and Current "Newbie".

I followed the SA thread for about 2 days, and then did my first trade (2000 shrs NM, made 4K). Then I joined SA, am now a Newbie (background is non-professional intermediate and LT trading with $300K+ portfolio).

Regarding last evenings posts on Lurkers, Hype, Newbies and what does it take so that newbies don't get hurt by joining SA. As a Newbie I offer the following comments: (I faxed a version of these questions to TM before joining - I love the Guy - he's up at 3am sending EMs, etc., he was apparently to busy to answer - so I joined on faith).

1. To profit reasonably how important is it to have L-I and/or L-II.

2. Are trading programs very important?

3. Are there other MUST haves or greats to have: Just to read the thread, watch momentum, and trade, it seems a day trader MUST have two computers and a cable modem??

4. Does one need certain trading programs?

5. I read thread discussing momentum indicators - does signing up give one access to info on how to learn and take advantage of such indicators? There was reference to a book on momentum - what are the titles? - are there many books?

6. Most of these questions really are: What are the reasonable requirements necessary so that semi experienced not-full-time members need to make my membership profitable?

7. Is there a filtered or more condensed version of the thread? While I have some time to day trade and read thread, I question that I have time to read entire daily thread as well as do the DD that all the contributors are suggesting needs to be done, and also do my regular job. HOW MANY HOURS/DAY are necessary to be successful??

8. Now for the less critical points:
a. I assume Toyko Joe and Mex are the same - when does
one refer to him as Mex versus Joe - comments?
b. I'm still in the dark about:
LOL - Lots of Love?
IMO or IHMO (Some version of IPO?)

All this is an effort to help SA and potential members find a better fit which helps the thead focus better on what it does and who's a part of it.

So far I love the enthusiam, speed, friendliness - arguments, help, etc. etc. Am looking forward to any and all responses

Thanks;

Dad Is King (Newbie in CT)
