Gottfried;

This may be old news right now, but CS First Boston was having an investment conference in Arizona today. Apparently the DD companies presenting were saying demand was rising; they were unable to meet demand by the PC makers and inventories were very lean. Whether this is just short term seasonal pressure remains to be seen, imo. In some ways I think this is a case of investment pros getting wary of the internet high fliers and trying to find industry sectors with more upside potential with less down side potential.

There is still a lot of fundamental weakness here, but momentum players could bid this sector up in a short time. What also may be having an effect is that US Clearing Corp (a division of Quick and Reilly) has started raising margin requirements for some of the higher flying internet stocks. From 50% to 100% on some stocks. (I do not have a list sorry.) This will have a very subtle effect of slowly steering the momentum players and day traders from those sectors to other industry sectors. Maybe the long suffering HDD shareholders will benefit and 99 will be better than 97-98.
