They're even talking about copper going to 50 cents. On top of it, oil is tanking with OPEC not cutting production until at least march 1999. The inflation picture is bleak, nothing to help the price of gold in the short or medium term.

But there is still hope for PFG if they keep exploring. After all, even if the price of gold stays low for a while, it takes years for a mine to go from discovery to production. Look what happened to ARP's share price with their discovery. In this post Bre-x era, the market seems ready for new discoveries.

As far as exploring the Fantasma property, they do not intend to do anything there untill march 1999, which in mining terms is end of 1999 which is dissapointing to say the least. You are correct, an interesting find there would put back Diablillos into play and could make thins interesting. Patience seems again to be the key word here, a word we have gotten used to.
