OK, kinda of new to the thread, although I posted in the past when I was in my anti MSFT mode. Now the question I have is this: is the price too high now to enter and should I wait for a pull back, or should I go ahead and enter at this price. I am fairly long term, ie 3-5 years, but I don't like getting into something and have it fall 20%, like I have had some high techs in the past.

My own niave thoughts on Sun is that it is the big winner of the AOL deal. Regardless of what happens, they will gain the entry into the markets they want.

Also I don't think the MSFT NT is that much of a threat at this time as they can't use their muscle to force the competition out as they have in the past with the DOJ breathing down their neck. They must be very careful. And I think the trust case against them has been strengthened by the buyout of NSCP, not weakened. Regardless, it has hamstrung MSFT for now and opened a great opportunity for Sun.

One last comment somewhat off topic about DELL. Dells company model gave it a huge advantage when componant prices were falling. And they happened to come into their own when Asia hit, hence even greater returns than normal. I don't know if that is going to continue. I am primarily a hardware investor, where there are currently massive values, and the sector has appeared to have turned up. So componant prices may be also coming up. It will be interesting to see if Dell can continue with their stellar earnings in this environment. By the way, I am sending this on my Dell, which is a great computer.
