Live or Heart Heart was one of my favorite live bands. The first time I ever heard Heart they were opening for April Wine and I thought they were great, tremendous high energy and beautiful ballads. One of the most memorable performances I have attended was Ella Fitzgerald at the Roy Thompson Hall, wonderful singer, awesome musicians playing with her and just all around "great music". There is a lot of great rock on your list and some of those bands will surely contend for "best band" in the minds of many readers. I think you were very lucky (or old <g>) to have heard all those bands. The Doors were done before I ever put the vinyl on the spindle. Audiophile records, counterweighted styluses, expensive needles, ahhh the good old days. I wonder, does anyone have any "audiophile recordings" they still listen too.
