When I wrote my last post it was approximately 1 hour before closing time today. At that point most of the semi-equips were losers, some in a big way. Then the market brightened during the last hour, and while the semi-equips lost for the day, the losses during the last hour were trimmed considerably. Semiconductor stocks in other categories had a good day, some had a very good day.

We still have 3 days left this week. We are probably still at a point where anything can happen. There tends to be a lot of rotation among the various sectors in the overall semiconductor group. Maybe the next 3 days will see a strong showing by the semi-equips.

I liked your last article about the lower priced PC's. While they have done extremely well, I believe a lot of potential buyers want more performance. Speaking for myself, that is the case. I am dissatisfied with both my home computer and computer at work. I want more speed and overall capability. I am presently biding my time, waiting until next year when I can move up to the latest and greatest.

As for the workplace, I am familiar with a few, and all of them need upgraded machines. More productivity is always needed so the older machines need to be replaced with newer ones. We upgrade to the extent of our capital budget, but we can always use more. Upgrading is a never ending cycle.
