Nabell.. I have had action direct.. too slow.
Have now Scotia... and E-trade

1)Fee's comparable .. over all I think Scotia is a bit higher.

2)Scotia can be slow when filling and acknowledging trades. Some of the females answering the phone down their can be a bit snotty also. Before you go to a their site, you have to load them and then open extra windows for other things. If you don't keep clicking on the site ever 3-4 min, you have to relog in<HATE THAT> they say it is for security...hmmmmm. If you have other sites up, you have to close them and then log into Scotia.
E-Trade.. stays live. can put an order in below the bid and let it sit. When you think you want to buy, have the buy sitting there ready with the new price, and click. No relogging on and I have had less than 6 sec fills with my cable hook-up on a 166 with 80 in ram and 16mg video card(yes, I know the 166 is now outdated but cable gives me a faster download and net movement than a 450 with a phone line)

3. I keep both because I just might get ticked with one or the other some day. I also keep Scotia alone on netscape and use explorer with e-trade and SW and about 6 windows open. SI, MW, SW news, SW market view, 1 live java with my portfolio and 1 with possible day trades.

I like the idea of both accounts. Over all I am impressed with e-trade and their service. When they get the stop option, I will be more impressed.

Regards

Jim S
