Al--
I did indeed promise, and here it is:
Estremaduran Cat Stew
Cut a dressed cat into serving-sized pieces, salt them, and brown each well in olive oil. Add to the pan some white wine, bay leaves, and thyme. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes. Add shelled peas, shelled fava beans, sliced carrots, sliced turnips, diced potatoes, and chopped onions (not in the recipe, but I'd add a tablespoon of tomato paste, a dash of vinegar, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce as well). Add water barely to cover and simmer until the vegetables (and presumably the cat as well are done. I'd suggest serving this with saffron rice, unless memories of the Soden Head are getting you down.
In answer to your other question, I trade with PaineWebber in Washington. My broker's nice about calling in the morning and whenever else it seems necessary, and of course if I feel an urgent need to do something and absolutely can't repress it, I call him.
Oh God forgive me. I bought INTC 140 calls at the close. Um...they were Januarys. Oh shit. I'll hate myself in the morning.
