This is only part of the story, BA layoffs are the tip of the iceberg IMHO.

Do you know how much semiconductors or high tech parts or aluminium goes into an airplane?? Or in other words, the amount of US paid working hours??

I remember the last downturn in airplanes markets. I was trying to finance a sale leaseback of an DC-10 for a SE Asia country, the price of the plane was falling around $1 million per 10 days or so. It started with around $30 million and several months later I gave up at $14 million.

BTW speaking of asset deflation, it is not only stocks <GGG>
