What a mess the conference call was. I got the impression Gary was horribly unprepared for it. Almost as though he was asked to come back as CEO a few days ago and...oh by the way...could you run a conference call tomorrow morning. I'd hate to speculate...but I get the impression that something fast and dramatic must have happened to Mr. Waters. An illness ? A fist fight with the board ? Who knows. But why on earth would you accelerate the conference call with analysts, when the whole investment community is salivating for some news, if you have not yet had time to get a reasonable handle on the problens in the Micro Focus side of the business. Gary was clearly not prepared and did not have the answers to a lot of questions. Ive never heard a worse run conference call. Too bad..since I understand that Gary is actually a very competent executive. Gary...take a hint...go to an executive presentation seminar for a week to get a little polish.
