Ah-I can see where my somewhat loose style of reporting has created a misunderstanding. Of course it was the execrable neighbor's DOG who did the dirty deed. The incident haunts me to this day.
I lived in a cottage down a long dirt road, on a lake perfect for skinnydipping, with my cats and my puppy, Pasha. THe solitude was marred only by a young married couple some distance away through the woods who owned a gasp-inspiringly ugly mutt. One Saturday morning, wanting to sleep late, I let Pasha out to do her doggy thing alone. Suddenly, I was awakened by an unearthly screaming and yelping. Rushing to the front door, I came upon the horrifying sight of my sweet Pasha being ravaged right there on her own front stoop! I shrieked, which was entirely the wrong thing to do, but I didn't know that, innocent that I was, and this Quasimodo mutt took off, dragging my precious Pasha still firmly attached, behind him. Trailing a stream of obscenities, I followed until the man neighbor stopped me and together we watched his loathsome canine, baby Pasha in tow, disappear into the woods. He informed me that until his revulsive animal had his way with my darling, they wouldn't be able to separate. Pasha limped home some time later, whimpering and pregnant.
The puppies unfortunately took after their father and the neighbors didn't even have the decency to offer to take one.
