Drew, I did not mean to imply any malaise on your part in reporting what you heard from WDC or GTW. If it came across that way, I apologize. I don't think WDC lied to you (perhaps GTW did). They just did not tell you the whole truth. My point is that very few companies, if any, volunteer information. You have to ask the right questions. Also, it is unlikely that the IR person knows everything that is going on.
Re. Dell - first, congratulations on you fabulous return. I never disputed the FACT that Dell stock has had a stupendous performance. I am disputing the fact that it deserves a valuation much higher than a company like Boeing for which the barriers to entry are too stringent to overcome. You can bookmark this note and revisit in about a year. Dell will be about 1/4 of its current valuation by then (perhaps still be overvalued.) IMHO. BTW, don't take criticism of a stock and company executives (who are more or less public figures) personal.
