LS, all, Re: PTVL fundamentals:

Headquartered in San Francisco, the firm has 13 million shares outstanding giving the stock a market cap of $250 million.

Preview Travel is a provider of online travel services for leisure and small business travelers. Revenues reflect an increased customer base and an increase in paid advertising on the Company's web site. Losses reflect costs related to the development of online content and especially related to the agreements with AOL and Excite, and higher advertising expenditures.

Revenues were up 65% last quarter and we look for continued growth in the range of 65 to 80% on a year to year basis for the next few years. Revenues were $14 million for 1997 and in the first nine months of 1998, the company has done $14 million. There are no profits but the firm should be profitable in 2000.

Last week Preview added improvements to their web site which make it easier and quicker to use and should help them turn more of their 5 million users into real live customers who actually book their travel online. They also added a toll free call-in number to increase purchases from users who are skeptical about entering their credit card information online. With these improvements in place, the company is sure to grow quickly and is a definite buyout candidate.
