Tom,
This was my thinking a long time ago. S3 has, in fact moved their earnings release date. It may very well be due to the fact the new Year fell in the middle of the week. However, with such a large open interest in Jan 20 calls (over 4100!!) it would seem logical that there would be some motivated people out there to keep the price below 20 till Monday. Now, if S3 were to have reported what would be otherwise good news after the close today, would the stock's reaction have been muffled by option expiration influences. We won't have that effect now, as the Feb open interests are no where near as large as January's. In addition, if you had bad news to report wouldn't you do it on a day a whole lot of other companie's were reporting. According to the SI calendar, only S3 and one other company are reporting on Monday. I know there are other companies reporting Monday, but a whole lot less than today tomorrow or Friday. It may just give S3 a little more limelight. Maybe all this is crazy, and maybe there are just a copule of alterior motives for this earnings date change.
???????
