Guess I would be tempted with a little different take.

My sense would be that Microfocus was the one not prepared when it decided to buy Intersolv.

From there Microfocus just seemed to let things slide and get bogged down in what it was not prepared to handle from the start.

The bottom line would then be that it was necessary to call in the rescue squad to get things squared away that should have been addressed since the acquisition but were not being attended to because Microfocus management got overwhelmed by what it was not prepared for in the first place.

If there is any truth to this theory, then with some time to make up for things that should have been done, this business should come back.

The essentials are still there. Three strong software product lines that are each near or at the head of their respective markets.

So rather that thinking of Gary as being confused, it might be more appropriate to think of him as being called in to bail out what had become a very confused situation.

All good signs for the future. The outlook, IMHO, would have been far more negative if something were not done. The good news was right there for all to listen to.

What do you think ?????????????????
