EVEREN Securities revised its estimates on ECHO BAY MINES to a loss of $0.38 from a loss of $0.51 for 1997, to a loss of $0.28 from a loss of $0.41 for 1998 and to a profit of $0.04 from a loss of $0.10 for 1999. EVEREN said it acted on the company's announcementit was planning to bring two new mines into production by year-end 1998. Echo Bay also said it plans to discontinue common stock dividends. EVEREN said this was "a move we view favorable given that the
company is entering a period of intense development and capital expenditure." (Reuters 01:18 PM ET 01/15/97)
