Greg,

Clearly they are trying to create a buying opportunity for themselves. This is not unlike ML and Tom Kurlak back in early 1996. Tom berated Intel and helped drive it down to $49. Then when it started back up towards the 60's he did a 180 degree reversal and said that he should have never down graded it in the first place. What a joke! Fortunately, these idiots can only influence the price in the short run. That is why I prefer to remain long term oriented. In the short term you are always at the mercy of some idiot making a comment or ridiculous estimate and then even bigger idiots following them. Or someone putting a negative spin on a bullish earnings release (like Intel's from yesterday). Or someone making up a whisper number after the fact.... 2.50 give me a break. In the days leading up to announcement I read from several different sources (not these threads) that the whisper number was 2.00. Now all of a sudden one trader gets quoted as saying the whisper number was 2.50 and all the media picks up on it. Clearly an attempt to manipulate short term sentiment. Fortunately again, in the long run, earnings will speak for themselves. As for today's price drop all I can say is ......yaaawwwwn. I've seen this so many times over the past four years. It happened after last quarter's blowout earnings. There will always be some profit taking and shorting by those trying to make a quick buck. What these people inevitably end up finding out three months out, is that they would have been far better off just holding.

I can't believe the number of people on this thread who are upset by today's pullback. I guess they just thought the stock would go up in a straight line forever. Today's action was healthy and normal. Long term investors had already been rewarded for yesterday's report in the weeks/months leading up to it. It's funny that some people try to jump on the band wagon at the last second and then get disappointed when the wagon backs up over them.

Bottom line, INTC still remains significantly undervalued.
