last mile--

I think we need ALL available technologies--cable, DSL, wireless
and even throw in a few distant others. Each, at the current time.
has deficiencies of one sort or the other. For example:

DSL depends on telco's cause they OWN the copper to your home--We all
know how well telcos roll out services--NOT-- take ISDN as an example.

cable- Read the SJ Merc article, but at least it is not via telcos.

wireless-- Just now getting interesting
