Jay - Sorry. DOCSIS = Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification. (It was given in the Dataquest article, so I didn't repeat it.) It is a standard like v.90 for 56k modems, but for cable modems. However, I think it covers more turf than a normal modem spec. For instance I think it also covers some pieces of the head-end to head-end interfaces. Clark
