Victor: while I agree with most of what you say, and I have previously commented on the valuation of an AV IPO and it's maximum value to CPQ shareholders as a spinoff, CPQ could sell a portion (20% or so) of AV to the public in an IPO and still use its position as a majority ownder of AV to accomplish all the business add-on's that you are suggesting.

So I am saying it doesn't have to be only one or the other, it could be a combination of both.

That said, I also believe if CPQ went up today ONLY because of a AV spinoff rumor, then it is probably a good time to short the stock because it went up more than enough than should be justified on paper...but this could be the beginning of the big breakout for CPQ !!
