Query regarding impact of Sony 'phones on a CDMA network.

Does anyone know 'where' the power problem is manifested; the CDMA side? AMPS side?

CDMA networks closely monitor and regulate handset transmission power. The network has the option of shutting down rogue handsets that
don't comply. Is this how the Sony problem was detected?

One wonders how the Sony handsets made it through compliance checks and field trials.

I understand that the Sony handsets use QCOM chips and software. One
has to think that QCOM 'phones may also be recalled.
