Well, I guess one of my major peeves is the wasted space and lost taxes of churches. Every dime I make, through whatever means, is taxed multiple times before I actually spend any of it...and then by damn I pay again.

Meanwhile, the churches (interchangeable with religious organizations) have employees who can exempt themselves from Social Security (AKA biggest waste of money imaginable) and hold large tracts of valuable land with *NO* taxes paid on it.

This fact alone is enough to prevent me from ever contributing to any religious cause. I was a regular contributor to United Way.... Then I saw a TV commercial that absolutely made my blood boil. The bottom line message was that men are derelict sperm donors and "helpless" women need the United Way to act as a collection agency. So, I yanked the plug on that one the next day.

I don't need to have this crap rubbed in my face. I have made enormous sacrifices in the last 10 1/2 years to be a responsible parent and husband, not all men are bums, and I will be damned if I will pay for TV ads to drive home the obvious fact that *some* men are...just as *some* women and girls should act more responsibly when they get pregnant....i.e., adoption, etc. (etc. includes abortion)

But what of that!
