Why care about the "stupid (Y2K) bug"? Take a look at the assessment of this country's Y2K readiness, prepared by an official U.S. agency, the GSA's Office of Information Technology: itpolicy.gsa.gov Russia's relative technological backwardness may be an advantage here, but just think of what might happen to all that fancy new Western telephone equipment, for example... jbe P.S. I'm no techie, but I understand that you cannot "always roll back the date."
