P.Prazeres,
When I referenced "electrons can only go so far" I was in fact thinking of the internet and the 'internut' stocks. When you place an order to Amazon etc. UPS still drives a truck to deliver. Petroleum is still used.
As to whether electric cars will be a threat to oil consumption I must ask how is the power generated to produce the electricity the car uses to charge its batteries? I know that electric motors are more efficient than gas or diesel, but when power generation and transmission to the outlet of your choice are included I have heard different opinions.
How much power in this country is generated by hydroelectric, nuclear, coal fired, gas fired or renewable resources. Anybody know?
In any case, this is more of a long range consideration than our current "oil glut", I hope.
OH, BTW, did that Electric RAV4 have any muscle?
