Jim,

I forget...is NSM planning a M-II PR400 and PR450? A well known vendor said they were...and soon...but I don't know...

Well, planning is one thing, delivering is another:
techweb.com

Cyrix, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Semiconductor Corp., last month positioned its MII processor directly against the Pentium II. The MII hit the market with a clock speed of 300 MHz. The company already followed up with a 333-MHz version of the MII processor last week. Executives at Cyrix expect to ship a 350-MHz version by August and a 400-MHz version by January of next year.

We know there was no MII-350 in August, no 100 MHz FSB. We still don't know about MII-400 by January. I am definitely not going to hold my breath until it comes out.

There was a rumor/news about Cayenne based Socket 7 chip that is supposed to range between 350 and 466, but then there was another rumor saying that this chip would not be released until May of next year. We will see...

Joe

PS: Wouldn't Compaq be this well known vendor?
